Tesla has put up a new J1772 “Wall Connector” wall-mounted charging pile on the foreign official website , priced at $550, or about 3955 yuan. This charging pile, in addition to charging Tesla brand electric vehicles, is also compatible with other brands of electric vehicles, but its charging speed is not very fast, and it is suitable for use at home, companies and other places.
Tesla said on its official website: “The J1772 wall-mounted charging pile can add 44 miles (about 70 kilometers) of range per hour to the vehicle, it is equipped with a 24-foot (about 7.3 meters) cable, multiple power settings and multiple The functional indoor/outdoor design provides unparalleled convenience. It also enables power sharing, maximizing existing power capacity, automatically distributing power, and allowing you to charge multiple vehicles at the same time.”
It is worth noting that this charging pile is designed by Tesla for other brands of electric vehicles. If Tesla owners want to use it to charge, they need to be equipped with an additional charging adapter to use. It can be seen from this that Tesla hopes to provide charging services for other brands of electric vehicles in the field of home charging.
Tesla said: “Our J1772 Wall Charger is a convenient charging solution for Tesla and non-Tesla electric vehicles, ideal for homes, apartments, hotel properties and workplaces.” And Tesla Laura will likely enter the commercial charging market: “If you are a commercial real estate developer, manager or owner and interested in purchasing more than 12 J1772 wall-mounted charging piles, please visit the commercial charging page.”
As previously reported, Tesla has built a nationwide network of fast-charging stations for customers, but in the United States, vehicles made by other companies cannot use these charging stations. Over the past year, Tesla has said it plans to open its U.S. network to other companies, though details on when and whether it will open existing or new charging stations have been scant. Recent regulatory announcements and other filings say Tesla is applying for public funding, and getting approval will need to open up the network to other electric-vehicle makers.
Tesla will begin producing new Supercharger equipment by the end of the year to enable non-Tesla electric vehicle drivers in North America to use the company’s Superchargers, according to a White House presentation in late June.
