On November 22, NIO and CNOOC’s first batch of cooperative battery swap stations were officially put into operation in the CNOOC Licheng service area of the G94 Pearl River Delta Ring Expressway (in the direction of Huadu and Panyu).
China National Offshore Oil Corporation is the largest offshore oil and gas production operator in China. In addition to the traditional oil and gas business, CNOOC has been actively developing new energy businesses such as offshore wind power, promoting the transformation from a traditional oil product sales company to a comprehensive energy service provider, and contributing to the realization of the “double carbon” goal.
The launch of the first batch of cooperation stations between NIO and CNOOC will further intensify the high-speed power exchange network in the Greater Bay Area urban agglomeration, and also marks that the two parties will work together to promote carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, help energy transformation, and promote the development of the new energy vehicle industry. The user brings a more convenient power-on experience.
At the event site, Chen Chuang, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of CNOOC South China Sales Company, and Wu Peng, Vice President of NIO Energy Operations, attended the launching ceremony, cut the ribbon for the opening of the power station, and looked forward to more cooperation between NIO and CNOOC.

Starting with this, the two parties will continue to deepen cooperation on qualified sites, jointly promote the construction of a low-carbon transportation system and make up for the shortcomings of gas station functions, strive to improve user experience, and jointly create a batch of refueling, charging, battery exchange, A comprehensive energy supply station integrating shopping and other activities.”
Wu Peng said: “The construction of NIO’s power station and other energy replenishment networks is inseparable from the strong support of CNOOC. The launch ceremony marks the beginning of the cooperation between NIO and CNOOC in the country. With the launch of the first batch of cooperative power stations with CNOOC, Weilai has successively cooperated with Sinopec, PetroChina, Shell, and CNOOC to jointly build charging and swapping stations, relying on the “four barrels of oil” layout network to speed up the deployment. Let more users enjoy convenient power-up services.
So far, NIO has deployed 1,228 battery swap stations nationwide (including 329 expressway swap stations), 2,090 charging stations, 12,073 charging piles, and over 600,000 third-party charging piles.
