It is reported that the first car to roll off the production line at the new factory will be a mid-size car, currently only named after the “SW” project. Kia previously noted that the new car will be available in a variety of body styles, which would allow the PBV to function as a delivery van or passenger shuttle. At the same time, SW PBV will also launch an autonomous robot taxi version, which may have L4 autonomous driving capabilities.

Kia’s PBV program also includes medium-sized commercial vehicles. Kia will use the same technology as the SW to launch a range of purpose-built EVs in different shapes and sizes. That will range from small unmanned delivery vehicles to larger passenger shuttles and PBVs that will be large enough to be used as mobile stores and office space, Kia said.
