Jeep plans to make 100% of its European car sales from pure electric vehicles by 2030. To achieve this, parent company Stellantis will launch four Jeep-branded electric SUV models by 2025 and phase out all combustion-engine models over the next five years.
“We want to be a global leader in the electrification of SUVs,” Jeep CEO Christian Meunier said at a media conference on September 7.

Jeep has previously launched a number of hybrid models, including a range of plug-in hybrid SUVs. The company’s first zero-emission model will be the Avenger small SUV, which will debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 17 and go on sale in Europe next year, with an expected range of around 400 kilometers. The Avenger will be built at Stellantis’ plant in Tychy, Poland, and will be exported to Japan and South Korea, but the model won’t be available in the U.S. or China.
Jeep’s first all-electric model in North America will be a large SUV called the Recon, with a boxy shape reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender. The company will start producing the Recon in the U.S. in 2024 and export it to Europe by the end of that year. Meunier said the Recon has enough battery capacity to complete the 22-mile Rubicon Trail, one of the toughest off-road trails in the U.S., before “coming back to town to recharge.”
Jeep’s third zero-emission model will be an all-electric version of the larger Wagoneer, codenamed the Wagoneer S, which Stellantis design chief Ralph Gilles calls “American high art.” Jeep said that the appearance of the Wagoneer S will be very aerodynamic, and the model will be available for the global market, with a cruising range of 400 miles (about 644 kilometers) on a single charge, an output of 600 horsepower, and an acceleration time of about 3.5 seconds. . The model will go on sale in 2024.
The company has not disclosed information about the fourth pure electric vehicle, which is only known to launch in 2025.
