In practical applications, how to choose the rated voltage of the motor?

Rated voltage is a very important parameter index of motor products. For motor users, how to choose the voltage level of the motor is the key to motor selection.

Motors of the same power size can have different voltage levels; such as 220V, 380V, 400V, 420V, 440V, 660V and 690V in low-voltage motors, among which 380V is the standard voltage of low-voltage three-phase electricity in our country; 3000V, 6000V and 10000V voltage levels. When the user selects the motor, the motor should be reasonably matched according to the power supply voltage of the actual use place.

For relatively low-power motors, low-voltage motors are more preferred. For customers with small-scale voltage regulation facilities, dual-voltage motors can also be selected, such as the more common 220/380V and 380/660V three-phase asynchronous motors. The conversion of the wiring mode can realize the control of starting and running.

When the power of the motor is large, most of the high-voltage motors are used. The household voltage of high-voltage electricity in our country is 6000V and 10000V. According to the actual situation, high-voltage motors of 3000V, 6000V and 10000V can be selected. Among them, the motors of 6000V and 10000V The transformer device can be omitted, but a 3000V motor must also have a transformer device. For this reason, there is little demand for 3000V high-voltage motors in the market, and 6000V and 10000V high-voltage motors can better reflect the advantages of high-voltage motors.

For any motor user, when a high-voltage or low-voltage motor can be selected at the same time, it can be compared through the analysis of purchase and operating costs, and can also make a comprehensive choice based on the analysis of the energy efficiency level of the motor and the actual frequency of use.

From the actual analysis of post-maintenance, repair units in some areas do not necessarily have the repair facilities or technology for high-voltage motors. Under the condition of motor power permitting, it may be more appropriate to choose low-voltage motors. For users with better post-maintenance conditions, It is also a very wise choice to choose a high-voltage motor. At least, the relatively small size of the high-voltage motor will greatly save the overall material cost of the equipment, and also save the cost of transformer facilities.
