Start a business in Beijing

As one of the birthplaces of my country’s private economy, Wenzhou people have followed the wave of reform and opening up, relying on the spirit and tenacity of daring to venture and fight, not fearing hardship and never giving up, and have devoted themselves to the wave of entrepreneurship and wealth creation.
Chen Chunliang is one of them. In 1985, 22-year-old Chen Chunliang gave up his “iron rice bowl” and went to Beijing to start his own business. He rented a shop in Xisi Street, Xicheng District, to sell electrical appliances.
Since the 1980s and 1990s, the national economy and society have developed rapidly, and the demand for geared motors has also continued to grow.
Gear motor, also known as gear motor, its principle is to use the speed converter of the gear to reduce the number of revolutions of the motor to the required value, so as to achieve the purpose of speed regulation drive, mainly used in urban rail transit, new energy (wind energy, tidal energy) , artificial intelligence, industrial robots and other fields.
At that time, due to the difficulty of manufacturing and high technical requirements, the upstream R&D and core technology of geared motors were controlled by foreign manufacturers for a long time, and the supply of products in my country mainly relied on imports.
The foundation of the high-end equipment manufacturing industry is weak, and the level of self-reliance and localization of core technologies and parts is low. This has also become the biggest problem restricting the high-quality development of my country’s manufacturing industry.
“High monopoly, high price.” Talking about the characteristics of foreign industries, Chen Chunliang concluded. In the early days of his business, Chen Chunliang also worked as an agent. It was this experience that made him make up his mind: face the “stuck neck” technology directly, and concentrate on solving technical problems related to geared motors.
In 1995, Chen Chunliang established the first geared motor factory in Beijing. While introducing, digesting and absorbing foreign advanced technology, he strengthened the research on production technology, focused on the core technology, and embarked on the road of domestically produced geared motors.
Aim at the core technology

To this end, he led the team to coordinate scientific research, funds, talents, marketing, and sales resources. On the one hand, he actively built an innovation platform, established a research and development center and served as the person in charge, and cooperated with Zhejiang University, Xi’an Micro-Electric Research Institute, and Shanghai Micro-Electrical Research Institute and other scientific research institutions to carry out cooperation in the fields of new energy, new technologies, and new products, and continuously promote the accelerated transformation and implementation of scientific research results.
On the other hand, innovate the mechanism of talent introduction and use, focus on the “high-tech and sharp-short” fields, implement the strategy of rejuvenating the enterprise with talents, build a platform for talents to start businesses, and promote the coordinated development of talents “attracting, cultivating, employing, and retaining” and enterprises , Improve the production management level of the enterprise.

However, Taibang Motor has continued to grow and develop, and has become a high-tech enterprise with more than 30 product series, an annual output of more than 4 million motors, and exports to more than 20 countries and regions.
In recent years, the transformation and upgrading of my country’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry has accelerated, and industrial robots have been deeply integrated with the manufacturing industry. Relying on the research and development advantages in the field of geared motors, Chen Chunliang set his sights on the core components of industrial robots. This time, he chose to return to his hometown of Yueqing.
Create new advantages for future development
As the capital of electrical appliances in my country, Yueqing is a production base and gathering place for electronic components, with a good industrial foundation and upstream and downstream industrial chain supply chain. In addition, the local government continues to increase support for high-tech enterprises, allocate more innovative resources to key areas and key projects, build a service system covering the entire life cycle of enterprises, and promote both production and quality improvements in manufacturing.
Based on this, in 2015, Chen Chunliang successively moved the factory back to Yueqing, and invested 1.5 billion yuan to establish the Taibang Robot Core Components and High Precision Reducer Industrial Park.
In 2016, the precision planetary reducer for high-end equipment and robots was successfully developed and mass-produced; in 2017, the servo motor and driver for industrial robots was successfully developed; in 2018, the “Taibang Robot Core Component Project” was included in the national major construction project library; In 2019, the Taibang robot core component project was officially put into production; in 2020, the digital warehouse collaborative management platform was launched; in 2021, the integrated electric roller was fully applied to the new energy industry…
The implementation of a series of projects has filled the gaps in related industries in Wenzhou, and promoted Yueqing to become a leading domestic production base for core components of intelligent equipment, core components of robots, and industrial manipulators, and promoted the automation and intelligent development of the electrical appliance industry.
At present, Taibang Electric is moving towards the goal of producing industrial robots from parts to complete machines. “I believe that in the near future, robots will take on more and more jobs, and related industries will also usher in new development opportunities.” Chen Chunliang is full of hope for this.
In the next step, Chen Chunliang said that by actively participating in international business exchange activities, exploring the international market, integrating into the global industrial chain, and promoting Chinese manufacturing from “behind the scenes” to “before the stage”.
