Scope of application: This document specifies the overall technical requirements for generator motors and their ancillary equipment, as well as product identification, material and component storage, factory and field testing, supply and trial operation, and warranty period requirements. This document applies to three-phase, 50 Hz, reversible salient-pole synchronous generator motors directly connected to pump-turbines with a rated capacity of 100 MVA and above. Units with a rated capacity of less than 100 MVA or a frequency of 60 Hz shall follow this document.

This document applies to motor-compressors with a rated voltage not exceeding 〖JP〗250 V for single phase and not exceeding 600 V for other phases, and to individual tests of motor-compressors under the most severe conditions of normal use. This document also applies to the following types of motor-compressors: - Multi-speed motor-compressors, motor-compressors whose speed can be set to different values. - Variable capacity motor-compressors, motor-compressors whose capacity can be controlled at a fixed speed.
