According to the actual motor design, sealed bearings are used for small-sized motors, and the motor end cover has the dual functions of bearing chamber and bearing outer cover, thus eliminating the need for inner bearing cover, making the motor structure relatively simple, and naturally reducing material and processing costs. For relatively large-sized products, open bearings are more often used, and grease is added during the motor assembly process.
From the perspective of the motor manufacturing process, the use of sealed bearings will make the assembly process simpler and better ensure the cleanliness of the bearing system during the assembly process. However, from the perspective of use, motors with sealed bearings are more difficult to maintain in the later stages or may increase some material costs.
In the original unified design plan, motors H280 and below were not designed with oil filling and draining devices. The later maintenance of the motor’s bearing system could only be carried out by disassembly, which caused many inconveniences. As problems were discovered during the operation of the motor and supporting equipment, many equipment users required the motor to have the function of oil filling and draining without stopping the machine. This also led to the issue of improving the motor’s bearing system, including the selection of bearings, and the matching and improvement of the oil filling and draining devices.
Obviously, for motors that need to frequently replace grease, no matter how large their specifications are, it is not suitable to use sealed bearings. For motors that use open bearings, they must be equipped with oil filling and oil draining structures that can be operated without stopping. It is particularly important to remind you that you cannot simply consider the operability of oil filling and oil draining during the motor manufacturing process. It is also very important to consider how to ensure that customers can operate it conveniently after the motor is connected to the equipment.
For motors with flange end covers, wind shields or axial flow fans, the oil injection and discharge structure of the bearing system must be considered comprehensively. For bearing systems with oil injection and oil discharge structures, it is necessary to verify whether the oil circuit is unobstructed during the assembly process to prevent abnormal situations during the maintenance process.
