Do the implementation rules for energy efficiency labels corresponding to the GB30253 standard need to be revised?

After the release and implementation of the standard 30253-2013 “Energy Efficiency Limit Values and Energy Efficiency Grades for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors”, on April 22, 2020, the “Catalogue of Products Implementing Energy Efficiency Labeling in the People’s Republic of China (15th Batch)” included the “Implementation Rules for Energy Efficiency Labeling of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors”. The validity period of this batch of product catalogues is

CEL 038-2019 ” Implementation Rules for Energy Efficiency Labeling of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors ” (hereinafter referred to as the “Rules”), formulated in accordance with Standard 30253-2013 , will be implemented on May 1, 2020. The implementation date of the rules lags by 6 years compared to the implementation date of the standard.

The Rules apply to industrial general-purpose permanent magnet synchronous motors, including: (1) 1140 V and below, 50 Hz three-phase AC power supply, rated power of 0.55 kW to 375 kW, 2-pole, 4-pole, 6-pole, 8-pole, 10-pole, 12-pole and 16-pole, single-speed enclosed self-fan-cooled, continuous duty (S1) asynchronous start three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors; (2) 1000 V and below, variable frequency power supply, rated power of 0.55 kW to 110 kW permanent magnet synchronous motors for elevators; (3) 1000 V and belowpermanent magnet synchronous motor energy efficiency limit values and energy efficiency grades, variable frequency power supply, rated power of0.55 kW to 90 kW variable frequency drive permanent magnet synchronous motors; (4) remanufactured industrial general-purpose permanent magnet synchronous motors.

However, the motors that are not applicable mainly include: (1) motors that are completely integrated with other equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, traction machines and reduction gearboxes and cannot be separated and tested separately; (2) motors with brakes inside the motor casing (the fancover is considered outside the casing).

At present, the GB30253-2024 standard has been released, replacing the 2013 version of the standard. After the implementation of the new standard, in theory, the corresponding energy efficiency labeling implementation rules will also be revised. This coincides with the 5-year validity period of the corresponding product catalog of the rules. After the new rules are released, we will communicate with you in a timely manner.
