The datum is the foundation of any component processing and installation process. For motor products, different installation methods correspond to different installation standards and some specific installation dimensions. Not being able to read the picture reflects at least a vague or basic lack of understanding of the benchmark.
The more common installation methods for small and medium-sized motors include single-reference installation based on the base foot or flange end cover, and double-reference installation based on the base foot surface and flange end cover in both directions. That is to say, any 1 motor has at least one installation reference plane.
Based on the installation reference of the motor, the relevant installation dimensions can be controlled in place. The difference in the selection of the datum plane, in addition to the difference in the external installation size, will also involve the internal structure of the motor, such as the selection of the motor bearing, the determination of the bearing positioning end, and the processing technology of the parts associated with the machine base. Objectively speaking, the processing technology of motor parts represents the manufacturing quality of an enterprise to a certain extent. Automated numerical control equipment can indeed effectively ensure the compliance of the relationship between the dimensions of the parts, but the necessary tooling and molds require more technical theory and practice. The effective integration of experience, a link that has become increasingly diluted due to high-precision equipment, is the fundamental reason why companies are divided into strong and weak.
The installation datum is some specific geometric elements used to limit the position of other related parts during the installation process. There are two kinds of installation datums, one is the installation base, which represents the initial position of the installation, and other components on the installation are based on it. This benchmark is called process benchmark; the other is a benchmark for calibrating and positioning the mounting parts. This benchmark itself is not related to the mounting parts, and is called the calibration benchmark.
