Electric vehicles are the development trend of the automobile industry. We all know that the core of its principle is to replace the engine with an electric motor to realize electric drive. But have you ever thought about whether the motor on an electric car is the same as a normal motor? The answer is definitely no. Compared with conventional induction motors, electric vehicle motors are quite different in terms of performance requirements and driving principles:
1. The electric vehicle motor should have a large starting torque, good starting performance and good acceleration performance to meet the requirements of frequent starting and stopping, acceleration and deceleration or climbing of electric vehicles. Reflected in the motor test, it is required that the response time of the motor should be short when the speed or torque control is performed; at the same time, when the external load changes stepwise, the motor itself should respond quickly enough to adjust the output power and speed;
2. The constant power range of the motor of the motor vehicle should be designed to be wider to meet the torque output of the electric vehicle at high speed and ensure the highest speed that the vehicle can achieve;
3. The electric vehicle motor should have a wide range of speed regulation capabilities, with large torque at low speed and high power at high speed, and can adjust the driving speed and corresponding driving force of the electric vehicle at any time according to driving needs;
4. The electric vehicle motor should have good efficiency characteristics. In a wide speed/torque range, the optimal efficiency can be obtained, and the continuous driving mileage after one charge can be improved. Generally, it is required to obtain 85% in a typical driving cycle area. ~93% efficiency;
5. The size of the electric vehicle motor should be as small as possible, the weight should be as light as possible, and the power density should be optimized;
6. Electric vehicle motors should have good reliability, strong temperature and humidity resistance, and be able to work in harsh environments for a long time, with low noise during operation and easy maintenance;
7. Whether combined with the motor controller can effectively recover the energy generated by braking.
