1. The composition of the switched reluctance motor drive system
Switched reluctance motor drive system (SRD) is mainly composed of switched reluctance motor, power converter, controller and detector.
2. Switched reluctance motor
SR motors can be designed into single-phase, two-phase, three-phase, four-phase and multi-phase structures with different phase numbers, and there are single-tooth structure per pole and multi-tooth structure per pole, axial air gap, radial air gap and axial air gap. A radial hybrid air gap structure, inner rotor and outer rotor structure, SR motors below three-phase generally do not have self-starting capability. A large number of phases is beneficial to reduce torque fluctuation, but it leads to complex structure, many main switching devices and increased cost. At present, the two-phase 6 /4-pole structure and the four-phase 8 /6 -level structure are widely used.

1. High system efficiency: In its wide speed regulation range, the overall efficiency is at least 10% higher than other speed regulation systems , and the high efficiency is more obvious at low speed and non-rated load.
2. Wide range of speed regulation, long-term operation at low speed: It can run under load for a long time in the range from zero to maximum speed, and the temperature rise of the motor and controller is lower than that of the rated load.
3. High starting torque, low starting current: when the starting torque reaches 150% of the rated torque, the starting current is only 30% of the rated current.
4. It can start and stop frequently, and switch between forward and reverse rotation: it can start and stop frequently, and switch between forward and reverse rotation frequently. When there is a braking unit and the braking power meets the time requirement, the start-stop and forward-reverse switching can reach more than 1,000 times per hour.
5. Strong overload capacity: when the load is much larger than the rated load for a short time, the speed will drop, the maximum output power will be maintained, and there will be no overcurrent phenomenon. When the load returns to normal, the speed returns to the set speed.
6. Mechanical strength and reliability are higher than other types of motors. The rotor has no permanent magnets and can have a higher allowable temperature rise.
